If you have any questions before getting in touch, please don't hesitate to ask. There is no obligation — just an honest conversation.
Is my problem serious enough for counselling?
You don't need to be in crisis to reach out. Many people come with everyday struggles — persistent stress, low mood, relationship tension, or simply a sense that things aren't quite right. If something is bothering you, it matters. You don't need to justify it.
What if I feel nervous about reaching out?
That's completely understandable — and very common. Most people feel uncertain before their first enquiry. You don't need the perfect words or a clear explanation. A short message saying you'd like to talk is more than enough, and Dora will take it gently from there.
What should I expect in a first session?
A gentle, unhurried conversation. You can share as much or as little as you like — there's no script to follow and nothing you need to have prepared. Many people find it's not as daunting as they imagined. The first session is simply a chance to get a feel for each other, with no pressure to commit to anything.
Do you offer online consultations?
Yes. Online consultations are available — in your own time, in your own space. Online counselling can feel just as warm and connected as in-person, and it removes many of the practical barriers that stop people from reaching out. If home feels like a safer place to start, that's completely fine.
Is this a crisis service?
No. This practice offers regular counselling support, not emergency care. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please call 000. For crisis support, Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14.
